The AgilePM® course and associated certification are targeted to project managers and project participants want to be agile. Our course is based on the DSDM Atern agile approach that offers the agility that comes with the agile approach whilst ensuring better controls than light-weight agile approaches like Scrum. AgilePM® provides proven scalability and the ability to work with corporate management processes, supported by a track record of success over more than 20 years in IT and non-IT projects.

An AgilePM® certification allows candidates to develop gain an understanding of agile and the ability to apply relevant project management methods, leading to successful agile projects. You would also be able to tailor projects to different situations, improve business/stakeholder engagement and involvement with projects and improve time-to-market, feedback whilst ensuring effective controls are in place to ensure project success.

The course will:

  • Explain how to lay the foundations for successful agile projects
  • Explain how an agile project is managed
  • Clarify the different management styles needed for successful agile projects (compared to traditional waterfall projects and other project approaches)
  • Fully prepare you for the AgilePM® Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

This 5-day accredited classroom course, which combines foundation and practitioner levels, provides participants with a thorough grounding in the DSDM Atern Agile and will cover the following:

  • Agile Project Management – principles
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • The Agile PM process and products, methods and techniques
  • Project communication
  • Prioritisation and time boxing
  • Project control
  • Requirements definition and estimating
  • Agile planning

Organisations that use an agile approach to project management will be able to deliver change faster, at a lower cost and with lower risk, in line with business objectives. The agile project management approach can either be used to complement your current approach or can be used to change the way you run projects.

Agile project management is best suited for empirical projects but can be used for any project. Organisations using an agile approach reports better project results, higher level of customer satisfaction and lower costs for projects.

This course is accredited by APMG International, the official governing body for AgilePM® certification.

The Foundation exam is a 40 minute closed-book exam consisting of 60 question multiple-choice exam and you require 30 marks required to pass (50%).

The Practitioner exam is an open-book 2.5 hour objective-testing type of exam it consists of four questions per exam each counting fifteen. You will require thirty marks out of the available sixty marks to pass the exam.
